Danish Coin Values

I have collected Danish coins for the past 30 years, and have learned that the prices indicated in the various coin guides rarely ever hold true. Granted should you go to a coin dealer, then the prices listed will often reflect what you can expect to pay for a given coin. Often however, I have found that people or collectors, are more interested in the values of thier particular coins, and here is where the guides come up short. As it turns out, and for obvious reasons (they have to make a living off the coins), the coin dealer will not pay what the coin guide says the coin is worth. The coin guide is thus more of a dealers sales guide than it is a "what's it worth guide". However, some of the more rare coins may fecth close to the guides prices. I have over the years participated in numerous auctions, coin forums, and deals between professionals and non-professionals.
